保罗·M·海伍德教授是国际著名的比较政治学家,英国皇家文科学会委员,现任英国诺丁汉大学研究生院院长,欧洲政治专业教授。
海伍德教授主要的专业领域是欧洲政治,尤其是南欧国家如西班牙等国。其研究兴趣广泛,涉及欧洲的分权与委托,国家发展,腐败丑闻对民主国家的影响,欧洲的民主化进程和政治变革;制度设计,国家能力和政治过程,而近年来他的兴趣热点之一即为政治腐败。
海伍德教授承担了多项课题,其中由具有国际声誉的社会科学资助项目ERSC(经济与社会研究理事会)项目即达4项之多,经费达40余万英镑。他的专著与合著有《西班牙与欧盟》、《欧洲政治发展》、《西班牙政府与政治》、《西欧政治发展》、《民主西班牙的政治与政策》、《政治腐败》等12部,学术论文有《政治丑闻与腐败》、《当代西班牙的腐败、民主与管理》、《西欧的政治腐败、民主与管理》、《腐败:问题与前景》等60多篇。他主编过“政治腐败”、“南欧社会与政治”等多套具有重大影响的系列丛书和国际比较政治学刊物《政治及其对立者》。
